Grassroots group honors Rep. Barton for commitment to protect gun rights

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA) recently recognized Rep. Joe Barton (R-Ennis/Arlington) with its Lifetime Achievement Award for his “dedication to the preservation of Second Amendment rights.”

GunRtsAwardEditThe plaque included a quote from CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb who said he was “honored to present this award (Lifetime Achievement) to Joe Barton, who has, through countless distinguished words and deeds, demonstrated an exemplary dedication to the preservation of the Second Amendment rights, and whose actions have helped preserve the freedoms protected by the United States Constitution.”

Rep. Barton is honored to receive such a prestigious award from a group built on grassroots support.

“The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is made up of real Patriots who have one goal – to protect your firearm rights. I stand strongly with them,” said Rep. Barton. “I support an individual's right to defend themselves, their family, and their property with a legally obtained firearm. This constitutionally guaranteed right is put in jeopardy by those advocating stricter control measures. The gun control movement hurts law-abiding citizens and businesses, not the criminals who care nothing for the law. I believe we can better reduce the misuse of firearms by strongly enforcing laws already on the books and maintaining responsible judiciaries.”

Rep. Barton backs up his beliefs with his votes and consistently supports legislation that defends Second Amendment rights.
