AT has spent more than 20 years working in the public and private sector and Congressman Barton expressed excitement about having someone of her caliber joining his staff:
“AT’s impressive resume only tells part of the story. She brings to my personal office and the Committee an extraordinary level of legislative and advocacy experience – especially in the energy sector. Her ability to define a problem then to develop and execute strategies to solve it will serve us well. I look forward to working with her as we move forward during the 114th Congress.”
Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI) is also glad to have AT joining the committee staff:
"Having spent the last four years with the Lee Terry team, AT is a familiar face at Energy and Commerce and we welcome her return to working on committee business.”
Originally from North Carolina, AT graduated from Wake Forest and briefly worked in the private sector before becoming a Senior Legislative Assistant to then Rep. Richard Burr. Since then she has worked in both the private and public sectors including time as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy Policy at Department of Energy and Special Assistant to President for Legislative Affairs in the George W. Bush Administration. AT worked the past four years with Rep. Lee Terry of Nebraska in various roles, including Deputy Chief of Staff.
